FreeDiams Video scripts

Aims

  • help would-be users to understand what they can _gain_ by using FreeDFDiams
  • help would-be users to understand _how to use_ FD

Plan of production

  • present FD by the same way into different languages
  • technology to use for video creation?
  • where to host the videos?
  • how to advertise the videos?

Scenario 0 : Why use FD

Ideas

  • before creating the video
    • FD is already moderately configured and open, with the letterhead contact info de-personalized
    • desktop is uncluttered
    • Terminal command line is pre-populated with
      • in the buffer
        • a command line calling FD with an XML file containing Kirk allergy and clinical data
        • a command line calling FD with multiple –arguments for Kirk (but not an XML file)
        • a command line calling FD with only a name “Mary Smith” … this line is actioned to raise FD and the Terminal app is then hidden

In the video

  • begin with FD already open, and showing a patient name (but not more patient info)
  • we will first demonstrate the easiness and power of quickly using FD
  • people may see things (like formats) that begs more explanation or customization so we will show at the end a little bit more about how FD can be flexibly reconfigured and tailored, leaving more detail for other videos. (NOTE: It might be nice if these videos were also created before Scenario 0 “promotional video” gets published.)
  • FD is very powerful (show the + patient information) but you can use FD even without an EMR or command line ( hide the +)
  • General:
  • Quick introduction to menus, show access to the help dialog (tell that doc is available in two languages: Fr/En and that it is always updated from the FreeMedForms website)
  • Show language menu +++
  • Show the different areas
  • Quick presentation of the prescription toolbar
  • Drug selector:
  • show the different search modes (in the search line click on the search icon - press alt key up/key down)
  • search for different drugs using the three modes (explain the ATC tree search - tree shows the matched items)
  • show the tooltip in drug selector of one or two drugs (say that content can be changed using the preferences dialog)
  • show different drugs with different backgrounds (explain: protocols, allergies, intolerances, preferences can be changed for colors)
  • Prescription:
  • suppose we want to prescribe ciprofloxacin for Mary's lower urinary tract infection (input Command/Control-F, ahow Alt up/down cursor, cipro [commercial] and display the matches)
    • now we want only strengths of 500 milligrams, to improve adherence, so we add a wildcard filter (`*500`)
      • now we double click to enter the Drug Dosage creator, ignoring for now the re-usable empty upper “personal protocols” which we will come back to later, we'll just Tab twice and say to the patient “I am going to ask you to take
        • 2 tablets (right cursor, add the “s”)
        • each [1] day(s) –> keep the '(s)' and show that it will be replace by the right plurial form
        • during 3 day(s) –> keep the '(s)' and show that it will be replace by the right plurial form
        • one on the morning (click Schemes > Distribution) and one in the (wheel-down) evening, hit “enter”
        • now she says “it really burns, can I please have something for that” so you press Command or Control F and find “phenaz”
  • Printing:
  • you can optionally click Preview (click Preview), zoom (click +++), escape and show the Print dialog with duplicata and 2nup (check/uncheck box - inform user that there are NO special configuration to apply on the printer driver)
  • Templates:
  • show the creation of a template under a category to be named “Urinary tract” and save it as SSZ/TMP
  • clear this patient's information, provide a new patient, and apply the template (drag and drop) to this patient and show how what is there can be modified. Clear the prescription, and show that you can also preview/print the template even without needing to load the prescription area.
  • (pause the video, and save the cipro 500 bid x3d as a personal protocol)
  • (clear the prescription)
  • (resume the video)
  • point out that the existence of a personal protocol is now visually indicated by a background colour
  • show example interaction (Aldactazide from molecule search as spirono, then ramipril)
  • Interaction engine:
  • With a prescription like: ALPRAZOLAM + KETOCONAZOLE show the interaction synthesis dialog
  • Select Cytochrome p450 STRONG interaction
  • Click on “Get bibliography” and show bibliography for the current item
  • Now inform user that the interaction synthesis can be printed and click on print in the toolbar, show the preview.
  • EMR Connectivity:
  • unhide a Terminal session to show the command line that populated the patient info (EMR connectivity)
    • show how different command line (or XML file content) can populate FD
    • Show documentation of EMR connectivity
    • show the allergy and intolerance interaction
      • preload the command line to include allergy to amoxicillin and intolerance to an 5 char ATC code
      • interacting with amoxicillin for urinary tract infection
      • show patient precautions docked window (expand all branches)
  • Preferences:
  • quickly show various preference setting abilities including at least :
    • user's document (header, footer…) show the previewing
    • drus database selector
    • make some changes into the posologic sentence
