FreeDiams settings

For drugs management, settings are grouped into pages. You can configure:

• The pharmaceutical drugs database to use
• The elements of visualization
  • Font for the views
  • Alert level interactions
  • Size of the history of selected drugs
  • Information to be displayed in the tooltip of the drugs' selector
  • Information to be displayed in the view of the drugs' selector
• The print elements specific to drugs
  • Fonts for viewing and printing
  • The mask for creating the phrase dosage
  • Header, footer and watermark
• Default values for protocols
  • Default word(s) to use for the intake scheme
• Extras
  • Hide the name of the laboratory
  • Text of drugs reimbursed at 100%

General preferences of view

Set here the few display settings:

• The font used for displaying and drug prescription
• The size of the history of selected drugs. This history is available in the entry area of drug research right.
• The alert level of interaction consists of three levels:
  • Maximum: all interactions found will be displayed
  • Moderate
  • Minimal: only associations discouraged and cons-indications

Users documents

This section allows you to define your header, footer and watermark printing for your prescriptions. It is preferable to define for printing the following parameters:

• Headers and footers: on every page
• Tattoo print: on duplicatas only. The tattoo print is a text or an image to be printed in the background.

In the header you can use the following labels (more informations):

• Name of the patient
  • [[PATIENTNAME]] : name of the patient
  • [[PATIENTSECONDNAME]] : second name of the patient
  • [[PATIENTFIRSTNAME]] : firstname of the patient
  • [[PATIENTTITLE]] : title of the patient (Mister, Miss…)
  • [[PATIENTFULLNAME]] : full name of the patient
• Date of birth and age
  • [[PATIENTDATEOFBIRTH]] : date of birth
  • [[PATIENTYEARSOLD]] : age in years
  • [[PATIENTAGE]] : full age of the patient
• Biometrics
  • [[WEIGHT]] : weight
  • [[WEIGHT_UNIT]] : weight units
  • [[HEIGHT]] : height
  • [[HEIGHT_UNIT]] : height units
  • [[CLCR]] : Creatinin clearance
  • [[CLCR_UNIT]] : Creatinin clearance units
• Date of the printing
  • [[DATE]] : date of the printing

In the footer, you can use the following labels (more informations):

• [[NBDRUGS]] : the total number of prescribed treatment

The content of these texts will be added before and after the identified drugs.

A prescription is composed of a drug and a dosage. The “dosage sentence” includes these two parameters. You can change at will the content and appearance of this phrase with the label's engine (plus d'informations).

By default, FreeDiams offers a standard phrase:

DRUGNAME, saved form
1 of 2 intake(s) at morning, noon and evening every day, during meals, for 1 to 2 weeks
Note of the prescriber.

This sentence is composed of nested tags:

You can change at will the presentation of each element, add your text in each element, change the place of elements. This very easily with the label's engine FreeDiams.

You can, using the following labels, create your own “dosage sentence”.
The labels used are the following:

• [[DRUG]] for the drug name
• [[Q_FROM]] for the prescribed amount “of”
• [[Q_TO]] for the specified amount “to”
• [[Q_SCHEME]] for the prescribed form (tablet, spray, mouthwash …)
• [[DAILY_SCHEME]] for the scheme was taken in the day (will be equal to [[REPEATED_DAILY_SCHEME]] equals [[DISTRIBUTED_DAILY_SCHEME]]
• [[REPEATED_DAILY_SCHEME]] when the scheme is taken daily repetition of the specified amount. For example: 1

tablet morning, noon and evening

• [[DISTRIBUTED_DAILY_SCHEME]] when the scheme is taken daily distribution of the amount prescribed. For example:

6 tablets per day. 2 morning, 1 noon and 3 evening.

• [[PERIOD]] for the period taken (take a pill → [a] times per day)
• [[PERIOD_SCHEME]] for the period taken (text: weeks, months, days)
• [[D_FROM]] for the prescribed period “of”
• [[D_TO]] for the prescribed period “to”
• [[D_SCHEME]] for the time specified: text
• [[NOTE]] to note
• [[Meal]] for the relationship with the meal.

You can apply font formats for different labels, including in tables … Everything will be respected by the label's engine (remember the conditionnal texts may contain ASCII or HTML).

You can configure:

• The default action of the validation button when dialog shows
• The default action of the validation button in case of a modification in the protocole
• The default intake schema to use

Print engine preferences

You can define:

• The default printer to use (specifying one or using the system default printer or always ask user for the printer)
• Some print settings like : always 2nup, always print duplicatas
• Manage the PDF cache print system

When this settings is selected, the print engine allow, natively and without any configuration of the printer driver, to print two Nup. This kind of printing is really usefull for the duplicatas and lowering the paper and printer usage.

This option can be modified in the print dialog.

When you select it, the printer engine will keep a PDF copy of each print in a cache dir that you can specify. The application will never clean this dir or remove PDF files so it is up to the user or their EMR or admin to look after this.

The Print dialog includes a ghosted, display-only checkbox “Create a PDF copy in the cache directory” to inform the status of this preference. Additionally, the print dialog supplies a button “PDF”. This makes it possible to save a PDF manually.

All FreeMedForms software allow you to use two kind of usage:

• a local only usage (databases are only present on your computer)
• a nomad and/or shared usage (many computers with the same databases)

All FreeMedForms apps are configurated to work on local databases only. You can change this mode in the Preferences.

The following servers are available:

• MySQL

You can set the server's params in Preferences/General.
You can test the connection's params with the Test connection button.
When you validate the dialog, all databases will be refreshed according your settings.

Concerned databases:

• Personnal protocols
• Personnal templates

The template manager has got is own user's settings.
Open the application's preferences dialog and select Templates.

• font for the view
• expand all categories automatically
• lock category view at startup
• select colors for categories and templates
